Comment on the BLM’s Uncompahgre Resource Management Plan by Nov. 1!

delta-countyDo you love drinking a hot cup of cider pressed from apples grown in Paonia? Or enjoy the stunning view of Mount Lamborn and Landsend Peak? If so, please help to protect the North Fork Valley from large-scale oil and gas development.

Right now, the Bureau of Land Management is revising its long-term plan for the Uncompahgre area, and is taking public comments through Nov. 1. The current proposal – which would open 95% of the acreage and minerals to oil and gas development – could change the North Fork Valley as we know it.

Thankfully, area residents have worked hard to protect their home, and now they need your help. Please support the North Fork Oil and Gas leasing Alternative B1, the people’s proposal to ensure the protection of the resources that make the North Fork such a unique and special place to live.

The lifeblood of the North Fork Valley is clean water, air and food. Please submit a comment today asking the BLM to embrace smart and balanced management for our public lands and to adopt Alternative B1.
