With our Alliance’s 2022 Annual Conference now less than 50 days away, I’m excited to be able to tell you about one of the workshops we’ll be offering at the Conference!
Any entity that’s been at the forefront of community organizing in Western Colorado for 42 years is going to naturally have a complicated history. And, as a member-directed organization, our Alliance has also seen its work evolve and change over the years. As a way of introducing newer members to our Alliance and to hear feedback on our Alliance, we are presenting a workshop entitled From the Outside: Alliance 101. Executive Director Emily Hornback and Alliance Board Chair Andreya Krieves will offer a crash course in where our Alliance stands, how we got here, and where we’re going. We think this will be a fabulous workshop for you if you have any questions about Western Colorado Alliance or thoughts to share about how we continue our work for healthy, just, and self-reliant communities into the future.
This is just one of four workshops which we will be presenting during the afternoon of August 20, at the DoubleTree By Hilton in Grand Junction. The theme for our Conference this year is Perspectives, to highlight the deep listening work we have been doing this year, and to present some of the stories we’ve been hearing from local voices who don’t often get heard. In addition to the workshops, we’ll have our annual business meeting in which our Alliance’s platform is ratified and officers are elected. And there will be a keynote presentation (with details to come soon!), our annual awards presentation, and lots of opportunities to share fellowship with your fellow Alliance members!
Please use this handy sign-up form to reserve your seat at the Annual Conference today. We are thrilled at the thought of being able to see you in person again this year!
