Join us for food, drinks and good company June 1!
The Alliance staff are working to dust the floor boards and get all the pictures hung in anticipation of our celebratory Open House on June 1 at 5 pm! We are thrilled to celebrate our new homebase in downtown Grand Junction. Being in such a visible and accessible location is giving us all an injection of new energy and excitement for the future of the organization and we look forward to sharing the space with you!
Come catch up with Alliance staff and members, learn about our latest campaigns (including a brief recap from the recent legislative session), and share some food and drinks. You can also win some official Alliance “swag” in a new office scavenger hunt, learning some lesser-known facts about our organization.
We welcome all folks to this event — new members and veterans of the Alliance — and anyone who has maybe heard of us and always wanted to learn more. This is a chance to get to know us and celebrate our ongoing work for healthy, just, and self-reliant communities in Western Colorado together.
Although we have parking at the new building, spaces will be limited so we encourage folks to park in the residential streets next to the office. For those interested in carpooling, we are organizing three carpools in Mesa, Montrose, and Garfield Counties! Please sign up here!

Emily stepped up as our staff director in 2017, but originally joined our team as a community organizer in 2013. Born and raised on the Western Slope, Emily graduated from Colorado State University and then had the privilege of learning from and working alongside organizers in Central and South America as well as Appalachian coal country. They returned to their home state to protect the land they love and work with fellow Coloradans for a healthy, just and self-reliant future for our rural communities. Emily enjoys organizing, exploring the Colorado Plateau, country music and punk concerts with equal passion.
