We wanted to remind you that our Beers, Bikes & Electric Vehicles event is tonight, March 14, at Kannah Creek Edgewater Brewery (905 Struthers Avenue in Grand Junction) from 6 to 7:30 pm.
The first 150 beers will be free, so get there early! In addition to great beer, you’ll get the chance to chat with experts about energy sustainability opportunities here on the Western Slope. There will be e-bikes to test ride, new electric vehicles to see, and an opportunity to sign up for Mesa County’s Solar Co-Op program if you’re interested. This is a free event.
And on Saturday, March 18, we’ll be hosting a Candidates Meet & Greet with the candidates for Grand Junction’s upcoming City Council elections at the Lincoln Park Barn. The meet & greet starts at 2 pm, and a candidates forum will follow at 3 pm. This will be a fabulous chance to speak directly with the candidates in a casual setting!
Finally, tomorrow night, March 15, at 6 pm, our Alliance will be hosting a free online event: Alliance 101. This event will offer a great introduction to our Alliance’s work, focusing particularly on our work at the Capitol with the Colorado Legislature. Please sign up today for tomorrow’s hour-long presentation!
María Luiza Peréz Chavéz (who sometimes goes by Mary) works closely with the Western Colorado Alliance of Mesa County affiliate group. María is fluent in both English and Spanish and sometimes works as a skilled interpreter. But her love for language goes beyond just English and Spanish; currently, she is also studying French and Japanese! One day, she hopes to attend law school as an avenue to help those in need. Even with her busy schedule, María’s priority is her family. As the eldest of seven children, she has always felt the need to support her parents in any way she can. And somehow, she still finds time to read, swim, listen to music, watch movies, draw, play video games, and hang out with friends!
