WCC of Mesa County’s Clean and Renewable Energy group is undergoing a process of revitalization. We are seeking volunteers to help with campaigns to improve access to and use of our renewable energy resources. We’re also partnering with My Green Junction to improve access and use of recycling programs in Mesa County.
We are in a “Research & Development” phase right now, so if you are interested in helping guide the direction of the Clean and Renewable Energy team, we want to hear from you!
The Clean and Renewable Energy group holds meetings frequently, usually at Main Street Bagels, but at varying times and days. To find out about the next one, join our listserv! Send a quick note to roxanne@westerncoloradoalliance.org and ask to be added to the Clean and Renewable Energy email list. Also, make sure to “Like” and “Follow” our facebook page, Western Colorado Congress of Mesa County, to find out about upcoming events and meetings.
On that note, we have a tour of Curbside Recycling set up for 10 am on Monday, July 31st. We will meet at 333 West Avenue, Blg G, in Grand Junction. Our hope is that this will help guide us in finding the best path forward on the recycling initiative. And keep an eye out for a future tour of the Mesa County Landfill, too. Yum, yum!
Jeriel joined the Western Colorado Alliance staff in February 2017 (back when we were still Western Colorado Congress), but you may remember her as our Canvass Director for the successful Minimum Wage ballot initiative in 2016! In her young career, Jeriel has worked with engaged citizens across Colorado on issues ranging from veterans' affairs, healthcare and women’s rights. Jeriel has called Grand Junction and the Western Slope home for 16 years, and enjoys running, hiking, biking and crafting with her daughter Emma.
