Please consider nominating an outstanding Western Colorado Alliance volunteer for the Worley Award, which will be presented at our Annual Conference on August 24, 2019! Nominations should be submitted to Stefanie Harville, our Operations & Development Coordinator, by July 24, and include a statement of the nominee’s involvement in and contributions to our Alliance [max. 300 words].
The award was established in 1999 to honor our Alliance’s outstanding volunteers. The following process was adopted in 2008:
- The Award shall be given each year at the Annual Conference to one or more members.
- Nominations for the Award shall be solicited from members at least two months prior to the Annual Conference.
- Nominations shall include a statement why the nominee(s) deserve the Award.
- The recipients of the Award shall have:
a. Performed outstanding service to our Alliance and/or one of its local affiliate groups,
b. Such service shall have made a difference in Western Colorado, or shall have strengthened our Alliance as an organization,
c. The Committee shall give preference to nominees who have served our Alliance in recently. - A Selection Committee shall be established comprising the following members:
a. The past recipients of the Award for the previous four years.
b. The Executive Director.
c. Two additional staff members chosen by the Executive Director.
d. Two Alliance members chosen by the Executive Director. These Committee members may not be nominees for the present year. - The Selection Committee may nominate at any time additional people to be considered for the Award.
Arn's career includes more than 35 years of experience in broadcast media, online advertising and branding in both Western Colorado and New York City. He is a four-time Colorado Broadcast Award winner and has also won multiple Colorado Press Association Awards. Arn also teaches Film Expression at the college level. He lives with a dramatic pit bull and a grandiose cat and enjoys painting, animating, and exploring cinema in his spare time.
