Two chances to see Mountainfilm on Tour
Mountainfilm on Tour will soon visit Grand Junction and Montrose with a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films. The playlist for the two events are different so you may want to save both dates!
- in Grand Junction on Friday, November 9 at the Avalon Theater. Doors open at 6:00 pm with our silent auction and cash bar; films start at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $15 and on sale now at Monumental Events, with all proceeds benefiting Western Colorado Alliance.
- in Montrose on Saturday, November 10 at the Montrose Pavilion. Doors will open at 5:00 for a Silent Auction, cash bar, and social hour; films will begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is free but a $10 donation at the door is suggested. The event supports co-sponsors Community Options and the Uncompahgre Valley Alliance.
Mountainfilm, which is hosted every Memorial Day weekend in Telluride, began in 1979 and is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. The festival is best described by one word: inspiring. In addition to screening leading independent documentary films from around the world, the festival includes a full-day symposium on contemporary issues, art and photography exhibits, early morning coffee talks, outdoor programs, a book-signing party, an ice cream social, student programs and a closing picnic/awards ceremony. Presentations and panels are scheduled throughout the weekend event with a wide diversity of special guests, ranging from artists to adventurers and academics to activists.
